In addition to ISO-9001, our Liberty, SC facility is an AS9100 and ISO-14001 registered facility which specializes in military, aerospace and custom capacitor design and production.

The quality systems are targeted to the components before, during and after production. Preproduction focuses on design modeling and verification systems. All customer drawings and purchase order requirements are matched to factory bills of material and bills of operation. Ion chromatograph analysis is performed on incoming materials. Maintenance program testing, process audits and comprehensive training programs assure system integrity.
During manufacture online production lot tracking systems maintain a constant record of every part in each production lot. The computer record shows the quality acceptance criteria, inspections, and results for every process step. Designed for reliability, the manufacturing process includes infant mortality elimination steps like CDE's proprietary hot-surge and hot-DCL screens. Process control includes the latest SPC and Cpk sampling and AOQL reporting.
The post-production system assures that the data satisfies you. Production lot sampling assures conformance to all requirements. An AOQL record is maintained of the average outgoing quality level. Data furnished to you can include bar coding, conformance test results, C of C, C of A, 1st article conformance. And, of course, 100% conformance per the customer drawing and purchase order.

The lab typically has 8 to 12 thousand capacitors on test, can perform over 100 different types of mechanical and chemical tests and is certified per MIL-STD-790.
Beyond qualification data, the lab can furnish downright useful application performance data. As an illustration, for ripple current capability we can measure the core temperature rise, the ESR at any frequency, and we can perform ripple current life tests per EIA-IS-749 that tests the capacitors lying down in a horizontal position. That's shown to be a more severe test and representative of many customer applications.
