ELECTRONIC/PLC TECHNICIAN Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Classification: Hourly Salary: Based on Experience
Reports to: Electronics Supervisor
Overview: Responsible for repair, maintenance, modification and calibration of electronic equipment throughout the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Repair and maintain electronic equipment such as:
- Modify equipment as required
- Calibrate equipment as necessary
- Build new equipment per specifications and drawings
- Program equipment
- Keep work area clean and neat
- Other duties as assigned
- Automatic assembly equipment
- Semi-automatic test equipment
- Quality assurance test equipment
- Capacitor winders
- Automated welders
- Ovens
- Capacitance bridges
- Power supplies
- Impregnation systems
- Plant clock systems
- PA system
Job Prerequisites
- Knowledge of various measuring devices and electronics test equipment
- Must be able to read and interpret prints, specifications and schematics
- Knowledge of micro-processors and computers helpful
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Must have good attendance record
- Must be able to change from job to job on short notice
- A mechanical aptitude is necessary to understand the total function of the equipment
- 5-10 years’ experience as an electronic technician/PLC Programmer
- Ability to work unsupervised
Education Requirements
- Two year degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Full body movement/good eyesight
- Exposure to fumes, odors, and dust
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Constant alertness
