ELECTRONIC/PLC TECHNICIAN                       Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Classification: Hourly                                     Salary: Based on Experience

Reports to: Electronics Supervisor

Overview: Responsible for repair, maintenance, modification and calibration of electronic equipment throughout the facility.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Repair and maintain electronic equipment such as:
  • Modify equipment as required
  • Calibrate equipment as necessary
  • Build new equipment per specifications and drawings
  • Program equipment
  • Keep work area clean and neat
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Automatic assembly equipment
  • Semi-automatic test equipment
  • Quality assurance test equipment
  • Capacitor winders
  • Automated welders
  • Ovens
  • Capacitance bridges
  • Power supplies
  • Impregnation systems
  • Plant clock systems
  • PA system

Job Prerequisites

  • Knowledge of various measuring devices and electronics test equipment
  • Must be able to read and interpret prints, specifications and schematics
  • Knowledge of micro-processors and computers helpful
  • Excellent mathematical skills
  • Must have good attendance record
  • Must be able to change from job to job on short notice
  • A mechanical aptitude is necessary to understand the total function of the equipment
  • 5-10 years’ experience as an electronic technician/PLC Programmer
  • Ability to work unsupervised

Education Requirements

  • Two year degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Full body movement/good eyesight
  • Exposure to fumes, odors, and dust
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Constant alertness
