SHIPPING ASSOCIATE

SHIPPING ASSOCIATE 1ST SHIFT Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Classification: Hourly Starting Pay: $10.50/HR

Reports to: Department Supervisor

Overview: Prepare and process orders for shipment.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to

•  Locate material from QA into inventory
•  Daily cycle count & forklift checks
•  Pull orders and prepare for shipment
•  Review packing slips, verify piece count and date codes
•  Pack and label orders according to packing BOM or customer requirements
•  Palletize, weight, wrap and strap heavy freight
•  Process orders through shipping software and generate export documents and additional paperwork as required 
•  Communicate with customer service as needed and with carriers and forwarders to arrange pickup
•  Assist in physical inventory and monthly scrap
•  Keep work area neat and clean
•  Other duties as assigned

Job Prerequisites

• Good reading and communication skills
•  Some computer and email knowledge helpful
•  Familiar with handheld scanners
•  Ability to learn shipping software
• Education Requirements
•  High school diploma or GED

Physical/Mental Requirements

•  Full body movement/good eyesight
•  Constant alertness
•  Ability to lift 50 pound
